ABSTRAK
NURLAELAH. 2015. Peningkatan Kemampuan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil
Observasi Melalui Model Project BasedLearning (Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek)
Siswa Kelas X MIA 3 SMA Negeri 8 Makassar (dibimbing oleh Andi Sukri Syamsuri
dan Rahman Rahim).
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan pembelajaran,
peningkatan aktivitas pembelajaran, dan peningkatan kemampuan menulis teks
laporan hasil observasi melalui model projectbasedlearning(pembelajaran berbasis
proyek)siswa kelas X MIA 3 SMA Negeri 8 Makassar. Jenis penelitian yang
digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri atas dua siklus. Fokus
penelitian adalah aktivitas guru dan siswa serta hasil keterampilan menulis teks
laporan hasil observasi dengan menggunakan model projectbasedlearning. Teknik
pengumpulan data melalui observasi terhadap aktivitas guru dan siswa serta melalui
tes menulis.Data penelitian berupa data proses dan data hasil. Data proses dianalisis
secara deskriptif kualitatif dan data keterampilan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi
dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) terjadi peningkatan aktivitas guru
dan siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis teks laporan hasil observasi dengan
menggunakan model projectbasedlearning. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat pada analisis
hasil observasi peneliti pada siklus I menunjukkan bahwa, aktivitas guru berada pada
kategori cukup atau persentase sebesar 53%. Siklus II menunjukkan peningkatan dari
siklus sebelumnya yaitu berkategori baik atau persentase sebesar 42% sedangkan
aktivitas siswa pada siklus I tidak aktif atau persentase 61%, untuk siklus II terjadi
peningkatan dari siklus sebelumnya menjadi 100% siswa aktif.(2) terjadi peningkatan
kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil observasi siswa Kelas X MIA 3 SMA Negeri
8 Makassar dengan menggunakan model projectbasedlearning.Hal tersebut tampak
dari nilai yang diperoleh siswa pada siklus I jumlah nilai rata-rata 70,38 dan berada
pada kategori cukup. Pada siklus II, jumlah nilai rata-rata 83,42 dan berada pada
kategori baik. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model
projectbasedlearning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks laporan hasil
observasi siswa kelas X MIA 3 SMA Negeri 8 Makassar.

Based on Observations Using Project Based Learning Model in Class X MIA 3 of
SMAN 8 Makassar (supervised by AndiSukriSyamsuri and Rahman Rahim).
The study aimed at describing the lesson plan, the increasing of learning
activities, and the improving of the students’ ability to write report text based on
observation using project based learning model in class X MIA 3 of SMAN 8
Makassar. This study employed a classroom action research consisted of 2 cycles.
The study focused on the activities of teachers and students and the result of writing
report text skills based on observation using project based learning model. Data were
collected through observation on teachers and students’ activities as well as the tests.
The research data were in forms of data process and data result. Data process were
analyzed in descriptive quantitative.
The results of the study revealed that (1) there was enhancement in activity of
teachers and students in writing report text learning process based on observation
using project based learning model, proved in cycle I that the activity of the teachers
was in fair category by 53%. Cycle II showed improvement from the previous cycle
which was in goodcategoryby 42%; whereas, thestudents Activities incycle II
wasinactive category by 61%. Cycle II showed improvement from the previous cycle
which was in goodcategoryby 100%, and (2) there was an improvement of the
students’ ability in writing report text based on observation in class X MIA 3 of
SMAN 8 Makassar by using project-based learning model, proved in class X MIA 3
of SMAN Makassar by using project based learning model, proved in cycle I that the
students’ ability was in fair category with the mean score 70,38. In cycle II that the
students’ ability was in good category with the mean score 83.42. Thus, the
conclusion of the study is the useof project-based learning model can improve the
student’ ability in writing report text based on observation in class X MIA 3 of
SMAN 8 Makassar.
