Guidelines for Written Paper for MA Fashion

        MA Written Paper Objective:
The paper is meant to provide a thorough analysis of the research conducted by the student.
It demonstrates thorough research and inquiry, and positions the project within its particular field as a
contribution. The writing must be at a graduate level, meaning it is not only scholarly, but formatted
properly, and in its final draft, free of errors. The student will continually send agreed-upon drafts/sections
of the paper to his/her supervisor, and, when the supervisor is satisfied with
the final draft, to the second reader at least two weeks before the oral presentation. This is a thesis-styled
essay that supports the final project: it is not a journal, but a piece of scholarly writing that supports
        practice.

        Paper Format:
        - 12 pt. type, double-spaced, double-sided, Times New Roman.
        - 40-60 pages in length (not counting works cited lists, appendices, and illustrations).
        - Word count to be provided on the last page of the thesis.
        - The paper will follow a consistent style of essay-writing. For reference please read the
following web page thoroughly and adhere to the guide.

Components of the thesis paper (suggested):
The paper will include a statement of research or the scholarly ideas that support and are
represented by the project, the methodology or process through which the project was
produced, and the relevance of the project within its field of media. In addition, to be included
will be a form of literature review to provide context broken into clear sections of research
and inquiry, a conclusion, plus a Works Cited list and any illustrations, or accompanying
        appendices.

        Creative Project Objective:
The supporting paper is meant to provide a scholarly underpinning and support the Master’s

particular field as a new contribution. The writing must be at a graduate level, meaning it is not only
scholarly, but formatted properly, and in its final draft, free of errors. The student will continually send
