* Explanatory note: The Rules of Procedure and Evidence are an instrument
for the application of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court,
to which they are suordinate in all cases In elaoratin the Rules of
Procedure and Evidence, care has een taen to avoid rephrasin and, to
the extent possile, repeatin the provisions of the Statute irect references
to the Statute have een included in the Rules, where appropriate, in order
to emphasie the relationship etween the Rules and the Rome Statute, as
provided for in article , in particular, pararaphs and In all cases, the
Rules of Procedure and Evidence should e read in conunction with and
