Programme Objectives
        The programme is designed to : 
             expand understanding of mental health and mental disorders 
                through critically  adopting systemic and bio-psycho-social-
                spiritual frameworks;
             develop advanced clinical knowledge and practical skills in 
                mental health practice for both common and severe mental 
                illnesses; 
             master  research  methods  essential  for  informing  clinical 
                decision and policy making; and 
             develop lifelong vision for  pursuing  the  best  mental  health 
                practice  and  advocating  for  good  mental  health  and 
                rehabilitation policies.

            Programme structure
           Students are required to complete 
                  Five compulsory courses; AND
                  Five elective courses; OR
                  A dissertation with three elective courses; OR
                  CBT supervised practice with three elective courses
                       (pre-requisite: SOWK6127 Cognitive behavioral interventions & 
                        SOWK6311 Cognitive behaviour therapy skills training)

       Programme structure
         In the first year, 
             Acquire  most  current  knowledge  about  the  contexts,  policies 
               and practices in mental health
             Introduce advanced practical knowledge and skills in psychiatric 
               assessment and mental health counselling
         In the second year, 
             Can choose to specialize in certain areas in mental health
