Booklet The Job Matching Booklet assists you with matching your company's jobs to the Mercer Job Library. The following instructions will help you navigate the booklet. Click and follow the Job Matching Instructions and the Executive Levels Matching Instructions icons to properly match your jobs. Click other icons to learn more about the topics covered. Job Matching Executive Levels Career Streams Family & Year over Year Job Instructions Matching Instructions & Levels Sub-family Changes This link reflects all year over year changes in the full Mercer Job Library and is not limited to the positions in scope for US surveys in Mercer Data Connector in 2022 Job Matching Instructions: The Mercer Job Library is provided in two table layouts: 1) in the MJL Specializations & Levels - in a matrix format. Specializations are listed in rows. Career Streams and Levels are provided in columns. 2) in the Job Catalogue - in a list format. Each combination of a Specialization, a Career Stream and a Career Level is listed in a separate row. You can choose to work with the one you prefer or use both. Please note that columns have been hidden in the above tabs to allow you to easily view the list of Specializations and/or Jobs and their alignment to our various survey products. Please expand and collapse the hidden rows as necessary to view additional details regarding the Specializations and/or Jobs. Job Matching Prioritization Instructions/Recommendations 1. Start with matching your Executive population. To locate all of the possible Executive positions, use the following approaches. Within the MJL Specializations & Levels tab, filter the column 'Executive Career Stream Available' as shown below. Within the Job Catalogue tab, filter the column 'Career Stream' (Column M) as shown below. For all Executive matching, please also reference the Executive Levels Matching Instructions for further details. 2. Next match your industry specific jobs (where applicable). Within the MJL Specializations & Levels or Job Catalogue tabs, filter the columns to the right, depicting the positions covered in industry specific surveys. Refer to Survey Descriptions for more information about each survey product. Within each area, take a "top down" approach: start matching from the most senior positions for each area of your business and then work down. 3. Next match your general industry/corporate jobs (where applicable). Within the MJL Specializations & Levels or Job Catalogue tabs, filter the columns 'Mercer Total Compensation Survey for the Energy Sector - All Modules' to see the full list of general industry/corporate jobs. Within each area, take a "top down" approach: start matching from the most senior positions for each area of your business and then work down Additional Job Matching Instructions: Determine Specialization There are multiple ways to search in the job library: 1. Filter by Job Family/Sub-family/Universal Navigation Group. The broadest/general Specializations within a Sub-family and/or Universal Navigation Group can be easily identified via the Broad-based/General category columns on both, MJL Specializations & Levels and Job Catalogue tabs. Currently this applies to only cross-industry content. 1 p e t S 2. Search for Typical Titles. 3. Search for keywords within Specialization Descriptions. 1 p e t S Determine: While the Job Catalogue contains all of the possible Jobs (Specialization + Level) available, to determine the available levels within the MJL Specializations & Levels tab, 1 1. Scroll to the right of the Specialization row that you picked up to see Career Streams and Levels applicable - Career Stream to this Specialization and identify the one that matches your job. 2 2. The chosen Specialization + chosen Career Stream and Level form the Mercer's job code e.g. SMP.02.005.M40. - Career Level Please note that all Management (M), Professional (P) and Para-Professional/Support (S) Career Levels end in '0'.
