Definitions
Framework: A framework is a description of
steps and components necessary to achieve some
desired goals.
An Ecosystem Management Framework seeks to
place planning procedures within a proactive
process that considers the social, economic and
biophysical components of ecosystems.
Ecosystem Managment 3
Framework
Ecosystem Management: A System of making,
implementing, and evaluating decisions based on
the ecosystems approach, which recognizes that
ecosystems and society are always changing.
Ecosystem Approach: A strategy for the
integrated Management of land, water and living
resources that promotes conservation and
sustainable use in an equitable way. The CBD has
adopted a set of useful principles that define it.
