SSC CGL
The total in-hand SSC CGL salary for each post varies according to its pay level from
Rs 25,500 to Rs 1,51,100
The SSC CGL Exam will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:
Tier I- Computer Based Examination
Tier II- Computer Based Examination
Tier III- Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
Tier IV- Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document
Verification
Candidates must note that the score for SSC CGL Tier-I & Tier-II Exam will be
normalised if it is conducted in multiple shifts. The normalisation score will be
decided by SSC and it will be considered final for selecting candiidates for the further
rounds (Tier-III & Tier-IV) of SSC CGL Exam..
SSC CGL Tier-1
The exam will be conducted online comprising of 4 sections with about a 100 questions in
total and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in a
time span of 60 minutes.
The sections asked in SSC CGL Tier-I Exam are:
1. General Intelligence & Reasoning
2. General Awareness
3. Quantitative Aptitude
4. English Comprehension

There is a negative marking of 0.50 Marks for each wrong answer. There is no sectional cut
off. No point will be deducted if the question is left blank or unattempted by a candidate
SSC CGL Tier-2
SSC CGL Tier-2 will be conducted tentatively from November 2 to 5, 2020. The exam will be
conducted online comprising of 4 papers with about a 100 questions in Quantitative
Ability, Statistics, General Studies (Finance and Economics) & 200 questions in
English Language and Comprehension Papers and with maximum marks of 200 for
reach papers.
The papers asked in SSC CGL Tier-II Exam are:
- Quantitative Ability
- Statistics
- General Studies (Finance & Economics)
- English Language & Comprehension

There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language
and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and

SSC CGL Tier-3
Tier-3 of SSC CGL will be a descriptive test. The paper will be in English/Hindi and will
constitute of 100 marks. The entire paper needs to be completed in 60 minutes.
