Korea University Korean Language Center Short-term Intensive Program, January 2023 [Program Overview] 1. Eligibility: Overseas Koreans and foreigners with a high school diploma, prospective graduates, or with the equivalent academic qualifications. 3. Class Hours: Total 62 Korean Class Afternoon Special Class Monday to Friday 9:00-13:00, 54 hours 4 times, 8 hours ※ Two Korean cultural activities (Calligraphy, Cooking, Museum Tour, etc.) will be available to those interested at no cost. 4. Class Curriculum 4-1. Korean Class Level Topics and Class Objectives Textbook Can understand and use basic Korean vocabulary and sentences for situations, such as casual conversations, Beginner 1 고려대 한국어 1 greetings, shopping, ordering food, planning holidays, and etc. Can understand and express daily-life-topics, such as self-introductions, health, hobbies, favorite things, travel, Beginner 2 and etc. Can also communicate in Korean in basic-level 고려대 한국어 2 conversations, such as asking for directions, and shopping for clothes. Can understand topics related to personal life and social issues such as changes, personality, special relationships, Intermediate 고려대 한국어 3A changes in one’s life routine, etc. Can also communicate in 고려대 한국어 3B 1 social contexts such as joining a club, buying household goods. Can understand and express social or abstract topics such as Intermediate career choices, news and information, healthcare, accidents 고려대 한국어 4A 고려대 한국어 4B 2 and incidents. Can socially communicate in Korean such as exchanging different ideas with others. Can understand and express familiar topics related to Advanced 1 politics, economy, society, and culture, such as volunteering, 재미있는 한국어 5 living a healthy life, science in life, and economic activities. Can understand and express content related to abstract and specialized topics, such as politics, economy, history, society, Advanced 2 and culture (The mindset of Koreans, South and North 재미있는 한국어 6 Korea relations, industrialization, education, and social development). 4-2.
